Engine question

Postby themeez1000 » Thu May 13, 2010 6:46 pm

Hi,
I just bought a 1972 yankee 30ft MK.II I want to know if anyone knows what kind of inboard motor was in the boat. Aprevious owner took it out and put an 8 horsepower outboard on the back. In my quest to restore this boat I would like to try and find a replacement for the inboard engine so can anyone help me?

These boats came with a different engines. Early boats had Albin engines. Later boats had Atomic 4s. There may have been others. Is anything of the original installation there or has everything been removed? Shaft, water lift/stand pipe, exhaust, key panel, throttle lever, shift lever, gauges, fuel tank, fuel line, fuel filter, etc.?

It would be helpful if you took a photo of what's there and measured the distance between the engine mounting holes........side to side and forward to back.
