Yankee 30 "Headway"

Headway is a Yankee 30 Mk III, and among the last Yankee 30s built. Her owner Richard Cox, has done a lot of work to bring her back into "ship shape" condition. Pay particular attention to the new solid teak and holly cabin sole with 3 coats of epoxy and 3 coats of varnish over new stringers and plywood subfloor. His project list may be found below the photos of his restoration.

 

 HEADWAY RESTORATION

Repair keel, hull and rudder. Install new cutlass bearing. 5 coats of bottom paint.

Replace all thru hulls with bronze, totally bond system.

Repair mast. Install new sheaves, new spreader boots, new lights, new Windex, new VHF antenna. Manufacture and install, custom mast boot. Replace headstay and jib track. Install new cleats.

New halyards, sheets, cleats, and blocks.

Replace transmission cable.

Repair headliner.

Remove old cabin sole and replace with custom fitted solid teak sole. New marine plywood sub floor (epoxy coated) reinforce sub floor with 4" stringers.

Repaint name, and S&S shear stripe. Hand paint CF Numbers.

Update electric system, install state of the art batteries and marine battery charger.

Replace forward hatch with custom built hatch.
